Apple releases first developer beta of iOS 13.1 before iOS 13 actually leaves beta

Apple is releasing a new iOS 13 developer build today. The release comes just under one week since the last round of iOS 13 beta releases. Interestingly, Apple has labeled this week’s release as iOS 13.1 developer beta, suggesting that beta testing iOS 13 has ended. watchOS 6 developer beta 9 is available and labeled as such.

Apple’s public beta builds should follow at a later date after the latest developer beta has been tested in the wild.

Three more airlines announce partial bans on MacBook Pro models [U]

Update: Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways have also announced partial bans. As with the FAA rule, affected models are banned from both cabin and hold baggage unless verified as having had the battery replaced.

A new safety precaution has seen all MacBooks banned from checked baggage on Virgin Australia flights due to fears over battery fires. They are still permitted in cabin baggage.

While some might consider the blanket ban an overreaction, it’s actually a pretty sensible approach that is unlikely to inconvenience many…

Apple strikes deal for its Health Records to work with Allscripts’ large electronic health record platform

Even though Apple’s Health team is reportedly dealing with some internal conflict and departures, the company is still making progress in the area as it has created a new partnership with major electronic health records (EHR) vendor Allscripts. The deal will allow Apple’s Health Records software to interface with Allscripts’ platform and devices.
