Facebook beefing up election interference measures, but researchers unhappy

Facebook said today that it is beefing up its measures designed to prevent foreign interference in the 2020 presidential election. Election interference by foreign states was found to have played a role in 2016.

A declassified version of a joint intelligence community report revealed that the CIA, FBI, and NSA all agree that Russia interfered in the 2016 US presidential election with fake social media posts and other activities. Tim Cook receives $115M stock award as AAPL meets performance expectations

Apple CEO Tim Cook has acquired $115 million worth of vested Apple stock this week, according to new filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. As detailed in the filing, 560,000 restricted stock units have vested for Cook after AAPL exceeded performance expectations.

Apple TV+ show ‘Dickinson’ to premiere at Tribeca TV festival on September 14

Apple will premiere its Apple TV+ original TV show Dickinson at the Tribeca television festival on September 14.

The company will screen the first episode to festival attendees and then hold a panel with the show screenwriter Alena Smith, and stars Hailee Steinfeld (who plays Emily Dickinson) and Jane Krakowski (who plays Dickinson’s mother).
