Apple tapping into massive India market with first online sales as country eases rules for foreign companies

A new report out from Bloomberg today details that Apple is close to opening online sales in India as the country has relaxed its rules for foreign companies and the requirement to source 30% of production locally to open retail stores. This comes as good news for Apple as it has seen iPhone sales fall in the country this year.

T-Mobile is offering customers of other carriers a free mobile hotspot device, together with a free data plan lasting 30 days or 30GB, whichever comes first.

The hotspot is similar to devices that sell for around $30, and T-Mobile says you can keep it afterwards – though there’s likely a catch to that…

Apple says Siri audio grading program will return later this fall, with privacy-focused policy changes

Apple today announced that it will be reinstating the Siri audio program later in the year with some new policy changes. Apple apologized for how it previously handled user data.

The company says it will no longer retain audio recordings by default. Users will have to opt in if they want Apple to use voice samples, and Apple will aim to delete any recordings that are inadvertent activations.
